Silver Sand Holiday Park

It was hard to find a campsite in this area that would take a 2 night booking at this time of year. So on the weekend before we left when I tried this place and they said yes, I was relieved! When I booked the lady did say we'd be in the overflow area and there was no shade - I thought that would be ok, we'd be in some field miles away from anything. It turns out the overflow area is outside the main campsite, on the side of the road at the back of the town shops!! One of those shops is a bakery - they start work about midnight and finish about 4am. Then the rubbish trucks arrive at 6.30am to empty the bins!

So not a lot of serenity here!!

On a side note - our neighbours are bizarro us!!
They have a very similar tent, but blue and green with the tall bit in the sleeping area instead of the annex. They have a 4 door blue Mazda hatchback. They have the same grey fold out table as us. They played cards at night (although that's a bit of a stretch - it's probably a pretty common camping activity!)
