Harrison's

Since we decided to take this holiday I'd been looking forward to going to Harrison's in Port Douglas just for their lemon meragine pie. It wasn't structured the same as we had it last time - but the taste was just as great!!

Ice cream

Ice cream for lunch!

It's more ice than cream, but still yummy!

Daintree Discovery Centre

Mount Alexandra Lookout

This lookout suffers from a similar problem to many Australian lookouts - a bit overgrown so there is only a very limited spot where you can admire the view, and of course everyone is clambering to get a photo

Beautiful tho!!!

The Little Larder

Out for a drive, we've stopped in Port Douglas for breakfast - at the Little Larder cafe

Food is actually quite reasonable!

Reef House

Dinner tonight at Reef House spa & restaurant. It was ok, altho pretty expensive - 6 out of 10, if we had to give it a rating.

Meals were warm. The menu sounded great, but execution was a bit lacking. I had quail with pumpkin purée for entree, but it really needed more puréeing before it was done

We both had risotto for mains - I had prawn, Reid had duck - but there was just way too much risotto, and again luke warm

Choc Dee

Dinner at Choc Dee Thai Restaurant

Deb: good?
Reid: yep

Beer in a stubbie holder

But no seriously, the food was pretty good - consistent!! Yeah, consistent. Better than last nights "fusion" dinner

And yes! That is a swim up bar!

Cairns

We're off on a winter break in the sun. After a 6am flight we've arrived in Cairns for a quick breakfast at the Lagoon Vue cafe before heading to Palm Cove.

Food was ok...
